Once in a quiet village, a lonely child named Mia wandered through the streets. Mia had big, bright eyes but felt heavy inside, like a stone. One sunny afternoon, she stumbled upon a tall stone wall covered in green vines. Curious, she traced her fingers along the rough edges until she found a rusty old gate.
Mia pushed against the gate, and to her surprise, it creaked open. Inside was a magical garden, wild and beautiful, with flowers of every color. But it was overgrown, and it looked like no one had taken care of it for years. Excitedly, Mia stepped inside, feeling the warmth of the sun on her face. 'I can help this garden grow again!' she declared, smiling for the first time in a long while.
Each day after school, Mia sneaked into the garden, pulling weeds and planting seeds. She watered the soil and whispered kind words to the flowers, even if they couldn’t hear her. 'You can do it! Grow strong!' she cheered as she worked.
One day, while pruning a particularly tangled bush, she heard a soft voice. 'What are you doing in my garden?' It was Oliver, a boy from her class who seemed sad all the time. Mia was startled but stood tall. 'I’m bringing it back to life! Would you like to help?' Oliver frowned but nodded. He missed his laughter and was curious about the garden.
With Oliver’s help, the garden flourished. Together, they shared stories while planting. As they worked, Mia noticed Oliver was smiling more and more. One bright morning, colorful flowers burst into bloom, painting the garden with joy. Mia laughed, and for the first time, they celebrated together.
As they admired their hard work, Mia turned to Oliver. 'See? When we care for something outside ourselves, it helps us heal, too!' Oliver smiled. 'I think I’m starting to feel better.' They hugged, knowing they had found friendship and healing in the secret garden. From that day on, they visited together, not just to tend the garden but to nurture their friendship.
